Case Summary

[This summary is temporary while we research the case.] This is a class action lawsuit in which the plaintiffs, patients at the Northeast Florida State Hospital (NEFSH), alleged that the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services had violated their Fourteenth Amendment Rights by confining them to NEFSH without providing them with appropriate care. The case was filed on February 14, 1984, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
