TEXT ONLY ENTRY (IN CHAMBERS) by Judge George H. Wu: This class action against the conditions of the Santa Barbara County jail was filed on December 6, 2017. Plaintiffs filed a motion for class certification which was not opposed. On May 31, 2018, the Court certified the class. On June 27, 2018, the Court stayed the case to January 10, 2019, upon the representation of the parties that they had been engaged in settlement discussions. On December 21, 2018, the parties filed another request for a stay for another six months because of their continuing efforts to settle the case. They also reference a discussion of the matter by the County's Board of Supervisors in February 2019. Based on the above, the Court will stay the case to March 4, 2019, and schedules a status conference on said date at 8:30 am. The counsel may appear telephonically.
