Accountability NOW USA, an unincorporated association that maintains ongoing demonstrations calling for President Trump's impeachment, filed suit against National Park Service officials on April 23, 2026, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The organization alleged that the U.S. National Park Service threatened to revoke their demonstration permit or take other enforcement action based on their display of two signs referencing alleged sexual misconduct by President Trump. According to the complaint, NPS officials asserted the signs reading "TRUMP RAPED LITTLE GIRLS" and "KIDS, IF YOUR PARENTS ARE MAGA, THEY LOVE CHILD RAPISTS" constituted "unprotected obscenity," but the plaintiffs contended there was no colorable argument that the signs were legally obscene. The lawsuit sought declaratory and injunctive relief under the First Amendment, requesting that the court declare the signs constitutionally protected speech and prevent the defendants from revoking the permit or removing the signs.
