The Philadelphia District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Oak Lane Printing and Letter Service Co., Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in March 2006. The complaint alleged age discrimination in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Two employees, aged 55 and 60, were allegedly discharged while younger, similarly-situated employees were not. An unsuccessful settlement conference was held in December 2006. On June 26, 2008, the parties agreed to a court enforceable consent decree that required the defendant to pay $52,700 to one of the charging parties and $24,800 to the other, as well as to adopt anti-discrimination and anti-retaliation policies in compliance with the ADEA and to provide training to employees. The consent decree was in effect for two years. As of 2018, there has been no further litigation, and the case is now closed.
