Case Summary

In September 2004, the Chicago office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Studley Products & Wildwood Industries, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant because of his disability (deafness). The case settled by entry of a consent decree in April 2006.

The two-year consent decree required the defendant to pay the claimant $33,000, refrain from discrimination and retaliation, post notice, provide training for all personnel that deals with human resources, keep records of complaints of disability discrimination or failure to accommodate, and give the EEOC semi-annual reports on any complaints of disability discrimination and/or failure to accommodate.

The only additional activity in the docket, is the inclusion of the notice that the consent decree required defendants to post. Given there is no additional enforcement activity, presumably the matter closed in April 2008.
