In March 2002, the EEOC district office in Chicago, Illinois brought this action against Staffing Network, LLC, a regional employment agency, in the U.S. District Court for the the Northern District of Illinois. The complaint states that at least two women alleged that the defendant constructively discharged them when it failed to remedy intolerable working conditions due to sexual harassment, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Further, the consent decree states that a total of seven women were given monetary relief in the case. After extensive discovery and a withdrawn defense motion for summary judgment, a consent decree was entered and the case was dismissed in September 2004. In the consent decree, the parties agreed that the defendant would pay the seven complainants a total of $400,000, refrain from retaliating or discriminating on the basis of sex, post an EEO notice, revise its current sexual harassment policy to meet EEOC specifications, post and distribute its sexual harassment policy, provide EEO training to all of its employees, and submit semiannual compliance reports. No fees or costs were awarded. The terms of the decree ran for three years. The decree was entered in 2004 and scheduled to last until 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
