Case Summary

In March 2001, the Atlanta District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against C.P. Shades in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. The EEOC sued under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, on behalf of a female employee claiming racial discrimination. Plaintiff claimed that the defendant business fired her from her position as acting store manager because of her race. WL 1901311.

A charging party intervened in the suit in July 2001. After some discovery disputes, the parties settled in March 2002 through a consent decree.

The agreed-upon settlement amount was $110,000. WL 1901311.

The only documents publicly available regarding this case are the docket and the above-cited settlement summary from Westlaw. Therefore, other details involved are unknown.
