In March 2001 the EEOC filed this lawsuit against beauty supply distributors Beauty Enterprises, Inc., AAA Industry Temporaries, Inc., and Essential Temporaries, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, alleging discrimination on the basis of national origin, Hispanic, in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The suit challenged an English-only policy at the warehouse. Seven of the complainants intervened.

On August 22, 2008 a Consent Decree was filed for this case, settling the action for certain complainants. The Consent Decree provided for monetary relief in the amount of $220,000, to be divided among ten claimants. Additionally, the Decree ordered the Defendant to refrain from practicing discrimination or retaliation, to hire an Independent Consultant to review the Defendants policies and procedures, to implement employee training, and to establish appropriate complaint resolution procedures. The Defendant was to post notice of employee rights, expunge the employment records of claimants, provide a neutral reference, and return one claimant to her position. Lastly, the Defendant agreed to allow the EEOC access to the facilities, to monitor compliance with the Decree. The remaining intervening claimants also agreed to settle the case a few months later, adopting the terms of the August 22nd Consent Decree. The Consent Decree was to remain in place for five years and the case presumably closed in August of 2013 as no further enforcement activity appeared on the docket.
